Project Objectives

All the objectives of HIVES Project are in perfect harmony with the first objective of the measure 1.2 of the Adriatic IPA Program, which aims at establishing an Innovation Adriatic Hub to facilitate a larger cooperation within the Adriatic-Ionian area and to aggregate economic research and institutional actors to stimulate a community based effort.

More precisely the project focuses on the two following objectives:

  1. To support the Adriatic area evolution to an innovation friendly and smart ecosystem;
  2. To boost research and innovation capacities as well as fostering innovation in SMEs.

Developing a feasibility study concerning the actions included in the EUSAIR Action Plan

The action will promote a feasibility study for promoting an accreditation system that defines the requirements for suppliers, research centers, and trainers.

The system will define the necessary requirements and a tool for benchmarking experiences. It will also produce an online questionnaire as assessment tool.

Creating synergies among projects and partners, and build up a solid network in order to strengthen and enlarge the capacities acquired and transfer good results

This will be achieved to foster and qualify start up incubation and acceleration services by supporting growth-hacking, clustering and cross-sector meta districts and innovation brokerage.

Developing synergies thanks to tools, best practices and models already implemented by different projects and partners

To consolidate in an unique Digital Business Ecosystem the operational tools generated by 4 different projects (Zoone, Clusters Club, Ipatech, Next. Each project will feed a unique platform with contents and data on the vertical markets.

In this way, the marketplace and sharing space created by HIVES, with classified data just by origin-Country is enriched with views of sectors and vertical markets.

Promoting initiative at a greater scale in terms of partnership, area of intervention and priorities, capable of increasing the impact of territorial cooperation on regional and national policies

We will coordinate foresight exercises in order to align and integrate the RIS 3 among different regions in the Adriatic Area, providing the overall innovation system of a DSS that can support the integration of regional OP addressing innovation.

Expected Results

Management and communication results

  1. Common management tools elaborated and approved and three cross border bodies;
  2. Widespread knowledge about the project and its results at local / regional / national and international level and increased awareness among all relevant stakeholders about innovation and project results;
  3. Increased of awareness of public officers of all partner organizations above principles and methods on smart specialization;
  4. Improved knowledge about financial methods and international global market Improvement of capacity of public sector to identify and manage financial tools to boost local innovation.

Project Main results:

  1. New services and open data set will be put online favouring of a friendly eco-system of innovation for spin-offs and start ups positioning in the market, in terms of skills, visibility, relationships, growth in size and networking, stakeholders will be involved in feasibility studies on financial synergies;
  2. A set of supporting integrated services on the on line platform to achieve the model as: Tools for assessment and self-evaluation of business ideas;
  3. Support to research lenders (crowdfunding / venture capitalist / etc.); Showcase of start-ups to attract possible investors (on line and laboratory-event on the territory);
  4. An innovative standard for incubator /accelerator on the following characteristics: with a set of indicators for the assessment of performance by measuring track records;
  5. A methodology for comparing areas of specialization of the S 3 and areas of excellence and IPA countries, in order to identify areas of collaboration;
  6. A report that identifies at least three common specialization areas, mainly related to blue economy or research fields in technology.

The final result is identification of opportunities for integration between the economies in terms of supply chain and areas of specializations. Programme package for an effective training related to the EUSAIR priority areas, and a set of skills (and persons) useful to manage a mentoring activity.
